Dear Mr. Balmer,
Thank you for contacting Americans United. The government may contract with religious organizations to provide secular services, but it is unconstitutional for the government to solicit religious services. Is there any evidence that the Foundation's presentations in public schools contained religious content?
Best,
Ian Smith

That would have to be ascertained by someone skilled in observance of such. I only had my antennae
raised by a news story. From what I know about the CHURCH OF SCIENTOLOGY, that some view as
a" cult", I would be more concerned with how and what techniques are being used. Again, that would
be for someone more skilled in this particular discernment, while being a direct observer.

From the WIKI > Technology application organizations
- Narconon is a drug education and rehabilitation program. The program is founded on Hubbard's belief that drugs and poisons stored in the body impede spiritual growth, and was originally conceived by William Benitez, a prison inmate who applied Hubbard's ideas to rid himself of his drug habit.[161][169] Narconon is offered in the United States, Canada and a number of European countries; its Purification Program uses a regimen composed of sauna, physical exercise, vitamins and diet management, combined with auditing and study.[161][169]
- Criminon is a program designed to rehabilitate criminal offenders by teaching them study and communication methods and helping them reform their lives.[161] The program originally grew out of the Narconon effort and today is available in over 200 prisons.[169] According to Melton, it has experienced steady growth, based on a good success rate, with low recidivism.[169]
